- Log in to your Greenlight Rent Portal, go to the Overview Page and click on your active policy.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Request Cancellation."
- Select your cancellation reason and click Submit.
- Your property manager will receive an email to confirm or deny your cancellation request.
- Once they have taken action, you will be notified via email.
- If your property manager does not respond within the provided timeframe, your policy will be automatically canceled and a refund will be issued.
What Happens After Cancellation?
Cancellation Before Move-In
- Both your refundable reserve and any premium paid will be returned.
- Refunds typically take 5–10 business days to process, though timing may vary depending on your financial institution.
Cancellation After Move-In
- Your refundable reserve will be held for at least 60 days after cancellation to allow time for your property manager to file any valid claims.
- Once all claims are reviewed and closed, any remaining funds will be refunded to you.
Important Considerations
- If you move out before your lease ends, your property manager still has 60 days to submit claims
- During this time, your refundable reserve will remain on hold
- Any unused portion of the reserve will be returned after all valid claims have been resolved
